A summer internship working with the librarian and historian at NCTC 

A summer internship for 2020, working with the librarian and historian at the National Conservation Training Center (NCTC) is available. This opportunity is funded by the Friends of NCTC.

Job Outline

Weeks 1-4: Historian/ Museum Involvement

The intern will be tasked with updating and adding films to USFWS historic film YouTube channel, assisting with Archives social media, historical research, and working on historical displays.

Week 4-8: Library Involvement

The first two weeks will be focused on the Science Excellence project & Inspiring Discovery. The intern will learn about the USFWS and how the Conservation Library is an integral part of the agency, create 10 -15 Canned Post for Twitter and Facebook by combining library resources, conservation and environmental stewardship (ranging for images in our collection & books), and scan documents needed to be archived in the library. Weeks three and four are based on the Knowledge sharing project & Communication Science project. The intern will assist with pre-productions plans for the 1st two conservation Library podcast episodes and develop a user experience survey based on their own experience with USFWS Conservation Library over their 4-week experience.

Desired Qualifications

Social Media Market Planning and/ or Radio Productions experience, environment and conservation interest
